Lange Estate Pinot Gris

Lange Estate Pinot Gris

Wine Profile

About This Wine

The juice is fermented in neutral French oak and stainless steel, leading to a wine that is crisp, aromatic and with mouthwatering acidity.  On the nose are aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, lemon drop, white flowers and marzipan.  Round and supple in the mouth, brisk acidity balances with exuberant fruit flavors of orchard fruit, lemon zest, melon and fresh herbs.  An excellent pairing with Thai cuisine.

About This Winery

Lange Estate was founded in 1987 by husband and wife, Don and Wendy Lange.  Long considered to be pioneers in the New World for their production of Pinot Gris, Lange Estate was the first in the United States to release a barrel-fermented style.  They have been hailed by Wine Enthusiast as "one of the great Pinot Noir producers in the United States."

Just as many families pass down the tradition of winemaking to future generations, Don Lange has passed on his love of fly-fishing to his son, Jesse.  The family's passion for fly fishing runs parallel to their winemaking which is why a fly was chosen for the label.  Each different and unique in its own way, the fly represents the beautiful diversity of the terroir where the grapes are grown and underscores the family's enduring commitment to sustainable practices and environmental preservation.
