Curran Grenache Blanc
Wine Profile
About This Wine
A dry, yet fruity Grenache Blanc, with notes of ripe mango, white peaches, and hints of papaya and elderflowers. Medium bodied, with balanced acidity, firm tannins, and a clean, crisp finish.
About This Winery
Located in the less well-known California wine region of Santa Barbara, D'Alfonso Curran Wines is comprised of Bruno D’Alfonso and Kris Curran, both of whom went on to get a degree in Oenology after completing their first college degrees and who, collectively, have more than 50 years of winemaking experience under their belts. Their Curran line was born out of Kris' love for Spanish grape varietals - in this case, Grenache Blanc (or Garnacha Blanca, its original, Spanish name) is allowed to shine.
Pairing Notes
This wine is easy to enjoy all on its own, but would also pair beautifully with chicken satay, spicy foods including Mexican, Thai, Asian and Indian cuisines, or stuffed zucchini flowers.
Nose
With an enticing bouquet of passionfruit, kiwi, and elderflower on the nose, it then gives way to flavors of ripe melon, starfruit, and lime zest in the mouth.
